Job Overview:
The IT Network Support Engineer will be responsible for the management and support of all IT network and infrastructure of the company’s data centre(s). The Network Support Engineer provides the vital services of planning, designing, implementing, operating, optimising and redesigning the IT infrastructure and IT network within the mission critical data centre of Afrimax. This includes managing the design, specification, engineering, installation, testing, monitoring and maintenance of the wireless, Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), server and data communications environment including specialized services, such as Business Support System and Cloud-Solution Applications.
Job Major Requirements:
- Hands-on experience for infrastructure installs
- Cisco Certified
- Certificates in SIP, SNMP, TCP/IP, QoS, RADIUS, X.509, and DNS required
- Experience with Nagios, Cacti or other monitoring application and ticketing systems
- Methodical, well organised, able to deal with heavy workload, prioritizing logically
- Experience in cabling, UTP termination and testing, patching, fibre installation and testing
- Quality focused and able to make a contribution to critical productivity improvements
- Delivery and deadline driven
- Flexible approach to work commitments and able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
- Good team skills showing ability to work on their own initiative
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide on-call support 24×7
- Good written and oral English language skills

Job Duties:
- Install IT infrastructure like servers and networks components in the data centre including basic configuration
- Interfaces to integrate EPC / B&CCS components. Analyze hardware issues and provide support to internal customers
- Manage projects in relation to IT Infrastructure moves, adds, changes Prepare and maintain documentation
- Administer/ Support LAN environment Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Servers, and Storage Repositories
- Provide design/configuration/monitoring/support for infrastructure switched network, including cabinets and cabling Provide hardware and software updates for Servers, and server-based applications
- Troubleshoot LAN/server issues for customer and test new LAN equipment Install and maintain anti-virus software on Servers
- Perform disaster recovery duties including backup and restore of critical data
- Provide LAN application administration and customer support
- Implement the rollout of new releases of server and client software
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and inquiries regarding supported software and hardware (both server and client-based)
- Perform capacity planning and optimization of LAN/server equipment
- Monitor systems performance to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions
- Provide 1st level support for desktop connectivity issues
- Other project assignments as needed, which apply to the related technical skill set
