Job Description: You will supervise the smooth flight-handling activities such as flight editing, check-in, transfers and boarding as well as coordinate with ramp and ground handling activities to meet high standard operations and on-time schedule daily. In the dynamic working environment, you are required to be flexible and tactful with excellent trouble-shooting skills to deal with flight delays, disruptions and, any other challenges. Further to this you will roster duty for Customer Service Agents efficiently, review aircraft allocations and liaison to Airport Services Duty Officer.
In order to be successful in this role, you will build an effective team with leadership and management skills professionally by directing staff and evaluating performance to provide constructive feedback. And you will also generate various reports and always keep the workplace neat and tidy as well as offering support to the Airport Service Manager in implementation of training and remaining Qatar Airways strategy.
Job Requirements: You must have a Bachelors Degree with a recognised IATA or Airline Certificate being highly desirable and minimum 4 years’ experience in an Airline as Ground Staff covering passenger handling and passenger operations with supervisory experience preferred.
You must have a good command of English and Swahili. Good understanding of an overall knowledge of airport functions according to ICAO, IATA and local authorities in terms of passenger and baggage handling, weight and balance and D.G.R are also required.

Director of Flight Operations
Requirements:


    An airline transport pilot license (ATPL)
    Three year experience as pilot-in-command in commercial air transport operations of large aircraft
    Must possess the ability to manage complex tasks associated with airline operations
    A self motivated individual with very good communication skills
    Extensive experience in an airline flight operations management role
    A university degree in management or any other related field.

Job Description: 
The Director of Flight Operations is responsible for safe and efficient overall operations of DAC Aviation (EA) Limited aircraft operating under the Air Operator’s Certificate issued by the authority and to promote safely awareness and to actively encourage open reporting and feedback.

He/she will be responsible for the following main functions:
1. Overall policy relating to the commercial direction, safety and efficiency of the company’s operation, relative to the requirements of the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) and the relevant legislation currently in force.
2. Defining and maintaining the highest standards of safety of company’s aircraft operations and maintaining the standard of operational efficiency for staff within the department.
3. Ensuring that the company’s operational policies and safety standards, as decided, are implemented and administered and that these policies are kept under review.
4. Liaising with the director general on all matters affecting the company’s AOC and flight operations.
5. Setting safety standards for all flight and cabin crew and operations staff through their respective managers and ensuring that the operations of the company are subject to periodic audits by the director of safety to ensure compliance with stated company policy, Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) requirements and legal requirements in sates which the airline operates or overflies.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Avionics

Qualifications and experience
  •     Have category “R” (comm./nav) and “X” (electr/compass) Engineers license minimally
  •     Recent (within 2 years) appropriate training on the aircraft DAC operates.
  •     At least 5 years practical experience
  •     Be able and willing to obtain category “R” (pulse equipment) rating

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical
Qualifications and experience

  •     Have category “A” and “C” (gas turbine) Engineers license
  •     Have a minimum of five years experience on Bombardier Dash 8 series 100 to 300, Q400, CRJ and /or Cessna C208 Caravan, of which at least one year must be as certifying engineer
  •     Have received initial or recurrent type training within the last two (2) years
  •     Other aircraft type experience would be an added advantage

Captains CRJ
  •     Must have a valid ATPL
  •     Must have current instrument rating
  •     Must have minimum 4000 hours total time
  •     Must have 750 hours on type (CRJ)
  •     Must be current on type (CRJ)
  •     1500 hours minimum on high performance aircraft (Turbo prop)

First Officers CRJ
  •     Must have CPL/IR (Commercial Pilots License/Instrument Rating)
  •     Must have 2000 hrs total time
  •     Must have 750 hrs total time as PIC
  •     Must have 300 hrs time on type and in similar type of operations

Captains (DHC-8)
  •     Must have a valid ATPL
  •     Must have current instrument rating
  •     Must have gas turbine engines experience
  •     Must have 4000 hours total time
  •     Must have 500 hours on type
  •     Must have a valid type rating on the above aircraft type
  •     Total PIC 1500 , PIC On type 350

Captain (Caravan)
  •     Must have a valid CPL
  •     Must have 1500 hours total time
  •     Must have 500 hours on type
  •     Must have a valid type rating on the above aircraft type

First Officer (Caravan)
  •     Must have a valid CPL
  •     Must have atleast 300 hours total time
  •     Must have a valid type rating on the aircraft type above.

Cabin Crew
  •     Level academic achievements with a mean grade of C+ and above
  •     Minimum height of 5.5 ft and maximum weight of 62 Kgs (ladies), minimum height of 5.7 and maximum weight of 70 Kgs (gentlemen)
  •     Experience in customer care service is desirable
  •     Must have a high standard of English and fluency in French (verbal, written and comprehension)

Job Overview:
The Site Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the activities of all AAR Airlift resources at an assigned site in concert with the In-Country Director. Will be in overall charge of the projects and programs at this site. The Site Manager interfaces with the customer at their location and speaks for AAR Airlift at the site. Job Requirements:
Education:

  • B.A./B.S. from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Experience:
  •     Must be highly knowledgeable of the entire content of the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Site Manager Handbook, Military Aviation Regulations, HMR 175, and all Federal Aviation Regulations relative to AAR Airlift operations.
  •     Demonstrated ability to manage an organization to achieve company goals.
  •     Aviation Management, Business Management or practical experience in an aviation related field.
  •     Five (5)+ years cumulative experience in an aviation related management position.
  •     Experience with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and/or other aviation industry agents.
  •     Two (2)+ years experience working with the Department of Defense or other US Government Departments in providing contracted services.
  •     Must have practical experience managing small to medium organizations (50+ personnel).

Preferred
  •     Experience within the aviation industry, preferably with a carrier under FAR Part 135 or comparable practical experience.
  •     Strong background working in both domestic and international operations.
  •     Practical experience and demonstrated performance understanding employee and business requirements for international travel, international customs and practices.
  •     Must be able to apply knowledge of the Company General Operations Manual, General Maintenance Manual, FAA Regulations, NTSB Procedures, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manuals, and all other material pertinent to his/her duties.
  •     International Flight Operations experience.

Job Duties:
  •     Ensures resources are available for employees to do their jobs.
  •     Handles any disciplinary problems in country and recommend removal from the country and retention by AAR Airlift.
  •     Conducts investigations into employee misconduct. - Makes sure employees performance is evaluated on a recurring basis for HR actions.
  •     Negotiates support agreements with DOD and commercial interests at the site.
  •     Selects site personnel for key positions and recommends removing personnel, if required.
  •     Ensures financial assets are available at the site to meet obligations.
  •     Ensures that all documentation required by the applicable site contract(s) is properly accomplished and communicated to the correct authority.
  •     Ensures that mission orders are consistent with an in support of the contract obligations.
  •     Coordinates with functional supervisors/leads at the site to ensure that aircraft and equipment are available when and where required.
  •     Monitors the airworthiness of aircraft and the safe and efficient conduct of all missions under DO and DOM guidance and direction.
  •     Empowers supervisor personnel at the site to execute the In Country Director's responsibilities at their sites, as required, to include oversight of maintenance, logistics and operations personnel. The In-Country Director retains final responsibility for site management actions.
  •     Ensures that the applicable site personnel maintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the General Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, NTSB Procedures, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manuals, and all other material pertinent to their duties.
  •     Performs travel inside and outside the continental United States, as needed.
  •     Performs other tasks as directed by the In-Country Team Director or requested by other AAR Senior Management.
  •     Ensures that required operating reports such as submission of pilot training and proficiency records, flight schedule reports and all other documents are submitted to the functional managers in a timely manner to meet company and FAA timelines.
    
    Assists the DO to ensure:
  •     All company pilots conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FARs and the General OperationsManual.
  •     Proper tracking of pilot annual requirements (e.g. medical certifications, qualifications).
  •     Activities of site flight operations are in accordance with FAA regulations and company policy such as dispatching aircrews, flight control, flight training and meteorology while ensuring maximum operating efficiency.
  •     Aircraft maintenance is provided to best meet mission requirements.
  •     Support as requested.
  •     Performs the duties as outlined in the GOM under Chapter 2, page 20.
  •     The Site Manager is directly responsible to the Director of Operations for operational control issues.
  •     Authorized to exercise the function of operational control of company aircraft and flight operations in accordance with guidelines as outlined in this chapter.
  •     Ensure that all pilots utilize the Aircraft Flight Maintenance Log, Load Manifest, and Discrepancy Record form; ensure that these forms and all pertinent documents are emailed to the POB daily, and a permanent file copy of each form is retained for the required period of time.
  •     Assure all documentation required by OCONUS Contracts is emailed to the correct authority.
  •     Accept, evaluate and approve mission orders in support of contract obligations.
  •     Review and sign Operational Risk Assessment form for each mission package.
  •     Assure that aircraft and equipment are available for operational flights and training, as required.
  •     Monitor manning and rotation schedules to ensure that the site is properly staffed. - Advise the Director of Operations/Chief Pilot on the status of available flight crewmembers.
  •     Facilitate crewmember standardization and OCONUS orientation.
  •     Disseminate required and necessary information to all crewmembers, maintain the read log.
  •     Submit required operating reports to the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, and Program Manager as appropriate.
  •     Ensure that all company pilots conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FARs and the General Operations Manual.
  •     Ensure crewmember Flight and Duty Logs (FDLs) are submitted electronically to POB by the 5th day of the following month, then original forwarded to Flight Operations by close of business on the 15th of the month.
  •     Maintain current aircraft checklists and other required company publications at the OCONUS location.
  •     Ensure fuel receipts are collected and forwarded to the POB for processing.
  •     Serve as liaison between AAR Airlift and the customer, as appropriate.
  •     Other duties as assigned.
    Position requires U.S. Security Clearance.

Must have legal authorization to work in Uganda
