Job Overview
The Regional Security Manager has an overall responsibility for the identification, development, implementation and management of the Firm's security vision, strategy and programs to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liablility in all areas of financial, information, physical, and personal risk. The individual will also serve as a technical resource to leadeship and staff - providing training, guidelines,timely advisory information and techical support.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Manager in charge of Administration, the position will oversee security administration for the East Africa region and will be based in our Nairobi Office. The Regional Security Manager will be expected to ocassionally travel throughout the East African region.

Job Duties:
  •     Formulate and maintain a regional security strategy that supports the firm's business vision as well as ensure alignment to the global Firm policy
  •     Serve as a key business advisor and subject matter expert to firm leadership in the identification,development, and implementation of security policies and procedures; and ensure compliance
  •     Develop and implement business continuity and disaster management plans
  •     Conduct regular risk assesment in our establishments/offices and advise the management on possible solutions
  •     In liaison with procurement, determine and select appropriate security systems and manage security installations where and when required
  •     Orient all staff on security procedures and conduct security awareness programs
  •     Update staff on security advisories or problems in the region and precautions to take on security risks
  •     Direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures related to security
  •     Take a leadership role during crises, disasters and/or other emergencies to ensure safety of employees and effective business continuity
  •     Facilitate regional security coordination through networking,collaboration and coordination with internal and external resources; maintain relationships with high level law enforcement such as security agencies,intelligence and private sector counterparts
  •     Assist in the selection and management of third party security providers through clear and measurable Service Level Agreements
  •     Lead Investigations on all incidents of security nature,file reports and liaise with the relevant security agents
  •     Serve as the lead member of the crisis management team and assist with analysis and background information, and security assessments
  •     Provide support to Senior Manager Administration in running the Administration function

Job Requirements:
  •     University degree in any of the following disciplines: law, business administration, accounting, finance, security management, criminal justice,public administration or equivalent
  •     Industry certifications and expertise in security related disciplines is an added advantage
  •     5-8 years relevant experience in a public administration role which entailed leading security efforts and administration duties
  •     Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with the relevant key players in the public sector
  •     Qualitative experience in strategic planning and/or policy development at senior level
  •     Ability to develop consensus within a matrix-managed organisational climate of diverse operational activities with loose central authourity
  •     Strong communicative and relationship-building skills necessary to interface within all levels of the organisation, including briefing executive management and governance groups on status of security issues and related business impact
  •     Proven track record of success in both leading and participating in virtual teams
  •     Strong negotiator, facilitaor and consensus builder with high integrity and energy
