About Continental Forests:
Continental Forests is a Management Contractor for global-woods AG licenced by the government of Uganda to establish and manage a large-scale commercial forest on over 12,000 hectares in Kikonda Central Forest Reserve in Nsambya Sub-county Kyankwanzi district.

Job Overview:
To support cattle keepers in the neighbouring Communities to adopt sustainable and modern land-efficiet livestock production and management approaches

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of  diploma in animal science/husbandry from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of three years’ relevant experience on in related activity.
• Competences in: planning, organizing and coordinating; coaching and mentoring; accountability; communication; concern for quality and standards and time management.

Job Duties:

• Mobilise, train, and support cattle keepers on improved and sustainable livestock production
• Train farmers in modern farming management practices including breeding, feeding and health  improvement strategies.
• Organising periodic visits visits to farmers in the communities around the forest plantation to monitor implementation of agreed upon strategies
• Prepares and submits periodic technical reports to the to Company Management for necessary advice on appropriate intervention and improvement in strategies.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Adoption of appropriate and deliberate land use planning and management  measures by farmers
• Improved pasture development and management by farmers at private farms including suplementary feeding practices
• Increased use of improved animal breeds by the farmers
• Improved water harvesting, storange and management practices  at private farms
• Functional and productive linkages between the farmers
