About TASO:
TASO is an indigenous HIV/AIDS service organization in Uganda founded in 1987 by Noerine Kaleeba and 15 other colleagues some of whom have now passed away due to AIDS.  The founding of TASO was based on people that were unified by common experiences faced when encountering HIV/AIDS at a time of high stigma, ignorance and discrimination. From a small support group, TASO has since evolved into a Non Governmental Organization with eleven (11) service centers and four (4) regional offices covering most parts of Uganda.

Job Overview:
The Technical Director will lead a team to pilot and operationalize the project’s Systemic M&E approach—a unique opportunity for persons interested in applying systems and complexity thinking to market development. In particular, the Technical Director, will develop and scale-up mechanisms to track and characterize the types and direction of change taking place in the agro-inputs system using, for example, such tools as social network mapping and causal loop analysis. The Technical Director will also provide technical guidance to implementation staff that is based on his or her years of experience and on the findings from the project’s Systemic M&E investigations.

Job Requirements:

  • A Masters in Human Resource Management, MBA, Organizational (Industrial or occupational) psychology;
  • Training in Administration, Management/ Organisational studies, Procurement and Contracts Management, and Project Management;
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience at Managerial or Senior Management level in a busy and competitive environment, especially in NGO, private sector or similar sector;
  • Fluency in English language;
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and management skills
  • Strong communication, networking and negotiation skills;
  • Proficiency in computer and computer packages

Job Duties:
  •     Develop, implement and monitor the Human Resource and Administration Business Plan and budget in line with TASO strategic plan and policies.
  •     Develop, implement and review Human Resource sourcing processes and retention strategies in line with TASO policy.
  •     Review and advise the TASO Board and management on optimization of the TASO organizational structure and business model.
  •     Develop, monitor and implement the systems for knowledge management to enhance learning and development function in line with the TASO Staff Development and Information Management policies.
  •     Plan, develop and implement staff performance management system in line with the TASO Human Resource Management Manual.
  •     Develop, implement and review a staff compensation, welfare and incentive system in line with TASO Human Resource Management Manual.
  •     Develop systems and procedures for managing and maintaining TASO’s assets, estates and utilities in line with relevant laws, regulations and standards.
