Job Duties:
- Provision of leadership to the construction crews and carrying on hands on, day-to-day supervision on-site.
- Planning daily and weekly work, organizing work teams, allocating work to teams and provision of technical guidance for smooth progress and quality control.
- Provision of clear and complete information from the Headquarter staff to the workmen and back being in charge of implementing Headquarters decisions on the sites and for providing feedback information from the site back to Headquarters.
- Ensuring good quality and workmanship generally and implementing the quality procedures provided.
- Assessment of labour requirements and sourcing/selection of labour for artisans and labourers within the school locality.
- Day-to-day handling of individual and crew labour productivity by maintaining good worker relationships, enthusiasm and motivation.
- Maintaining high levels of safety and security on the site by creating sensitivity and awareness.
- Receiving materials, materials storage, and safety including handling, daily issuing for planned work, recording and daily morning takeover and evening handover to the security guard. All materials must be accounted for.
- Daily recording of the Site Book, keeping, maintaining and submission of site records as required by the Company.
- Re-programme site work, replacing labour and/or reviewing work processes at short notice in order to address unexpected site occurrences from time to time.
- Foster good relations in interacting with local youth, leaders, elders and chiefs in order to smoothen out any issues arising out of the community.
- Requesting for labour payments including recording daily time sheets and payment records.
- Assisting in identifying unique site conditions that may require amendment of standard work plans and details especially as relates to ease or accuracy of construction.
- Carrying out regular self-evaluation to meet standards and for improvement of performance.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be a holder of certificate in building related course from a recognized technical institute.
- Should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a related position.
- An honest and dedicated individual.
- An excellent team player with leadership skills.
