Job Overview:
As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will build and manage the partnerships team, drive strategy, lead client engagements, and bring in new business. The position is based in East Africa in our regional offices in Kampala, Uganda or Nairobi, Kenya. You should also expect to spend 30-50% of your time traveling to drive the success of our partnering organizations around the world.

Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 years with a top consulting firm leading engagements and delivering exceptional results for clients; experience serving clients in the social, government sector a plus;
  • Or, 8+ years experience with an exceptional track record in strategic partnerships or business development for a top corporation, international NGO or development contractor;
  • Demonstrated success generating new business;
  • Experience hiring, managing and leading teams;
  • Entrepreneurial, with demonstrated success building and leading new ventures; proven ability to communicate effectively and inspire leaders in large, complex organizations;
  • Excellent quantitative, analytic, and problem solving skills;
  • Experience working in emerging markets with culturally diverse teams, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa;
  • Language skills are a plus, particularly French or Portuguese;
  • BA required; Masters degree in a relevant field preferred.
