Job Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Land/ Property valuation,Development Studies or Agriculture.
- Masters degree in a related field is an addded advantage
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years experience in land acquisition, resettlement planning and implementation involving community engagement
Uganda or East Africa. - Experience in handling resettlement programs developed based o International standards such as World bank and IFC perfomance
standards - Excellent understanding of community engagement ,land based livelihood restoration, social surveys, studies and agricultural
systems. - Ability to work in a diverse/multicultural environment
Skills:
- Good interpersonal, planning,organization and negotiation skills
- Excellent IT skills (Microsof Office)
- Experience in using GIS and social data is an added advantage
- Excellent communication skills both oral and verbal.
Job Duties:
- Administor and supervise the land acquisition and resettlement planning & implementation program
- Coordinate implementation of relevant land studies in compliance with Ugandan Laws and IFC performance Standards including scoping activities, land and asset inventory and socio-economic census to identify village boundaries, PAPs and assets
- Participate in land replacement and livelihood resotoration studies and construction of potential resettlement houses
- Contribute to the development, negotiation and validation process of Resettlement Action Plan/s with support from the manager
and RAP contractors. - Review and monitor land studies and contribute to the process where required.
- Contribute and participate in the Social Impact Assessment process and development of social management plans.
