Job Overview:
Global Communities is seeking a Food Security/Nutrition Specialist, an Economic Resilience Specialist, a Protection Specialist, and a Gender Specialist for an anticipated Uganda OVC program.
The Technical Specialists will coordinate with the program team to ensure that services provided to targeted beneficiaries are of the highest quality possible. This position will assist local partners develop and implement service provision strategies. Successful experience managing programs benefiting OVCs is required. The Technical Specialists will work with the team in producing and delivering all required program reports to USAID, partner organizations and Global Communities headquarters.

Job Requirements:

  •     Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field is required;
  •     Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a position responsible for OVC program in one or more of the following areas: food security/nutrition, economic resilience, protection or gender;
  •     Significant program management experience in international development, especially in working with orphans and other vulnerable children;
  •     Experience working with foreign donors (preferably USAID);
  •     Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate and work with managers, government and non-government officials, local staff, and target populations;
  •     Prior experience in the region and field of the program.

Job Duties:
  •     Provide specific technical expertise to the program;
  •     Ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget;
  •     Represent the program to key stakeholders within the community and government;
  •     Coordinate program activities with partners;
  •     Prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
