Job Overview:
The Education Specialist – Inspection (ESI) will be primarily responsible for all education inspection programmes for PEAS Uganda and its Network of schools across the country. This position is strategic in nature and includes a wide range of responsibilities ranging from planning and implementation of school inspections for PEAS Uganda network schools, communication and enforcement of PEAS network regulations, ensuring all PEAS schools students are assessed regularly and making progress.
Job Requirements:
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Post graduate Training in Education Management.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in Education management is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in secondary school inspections work
- Past exposure and experience of leading the delivery of quality secondary education at a whole-school level or through an education program
- Experience of developing and implementing professional inspection methods specific to education
- Possess willingness to travel and spend time in challenging environments.
Job Duties:
- Supervise IR Team Leads and facilitate achievement of their program objectives and targets with technical backstopping and support.
- Initiate and facilitate regular technical meetings to review program implementation, and identify measures to overcome implementation bottlenecks and enhance quality of deliverables.
- Account to the COP on the delivery of strategic program objectives, with regular reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Lead documentation and sharing of knowledge and emerging practices from the program internally within IntraHealth and externally with the wider stakeholder audience.
- Ensure daily operations of overall program implementation activities are on schedule and that reports, new plans and budgets are prepared with sufficient lead time to get the necessary approvals.
- Work with the COP to provide technical and administrative support in all aspects of the project and carry out any duties that may be assigned by the COP.
- Oversee and represent the project in the absence of the COP.
