Job Overview:
Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Credit Officer - Personal Loans to assist in acquiring of profitable new customers for the Consumer Loans segment through the creation, development and maintenance of high quality advisory relationships, that includes effective consultative personal selling and creative structuring of financial solutions. Marketing and managing of Consumer Loans customer relationships through pro-active and consultative approach and detailed understanding of new/existing customers’ business (es) to enhance profit.

Job Requirements:

  • Complexity in managing portfolio of customers, balancing effort/reward.
  • Judgment in consideration of credits for approval.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:
Education:

  • Bachelor degree/Advance diploma in Banking, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from any recognized University or equivalent.

Experience:
  • Experience in Lending & Credit administration is highly recommended
  • Working knowledge of Equinox banking software
  • Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Excel Spread sheet functionalities and programming
  • General ability to manipulate large data sets using Pivot tables, V look functions and Macros
  • SQL programming would be an added advantage.

Job Duties:
  • Working with reputable employers to deepen and secure new Personal loans customer relationships through the analyses of needs and provision of products and services.
  • Creatively, contribute on tailor products to meet individual customer needs.
  • Assist in giving a hand for the growth of quality Personal (Consumer and new related products) loans portfolio
  • Assisting in analyses and reviews quality of potential and existing business to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Preparations of monthly and quarterly review of divisional loans performance against set targets / work performance.
  • To assist in efficient operations of the Personal loans division and proper co-ordination of activities with other divisions.
  • Participate in conducting customer meetings that have defined core objectives, desired outcomes and a well-constructed plan.
  • Prepare feedback to senior management, marketing and product management and division head on customers' needs and the efficiency of marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Coordinate with branches and mini branches to ensure that are complying with procedures for handling Divisional loan applications and a loan monitoring system designed to provide information concerning the performance of the personal loan portfolio.
  • Assist branches in reconciliation and clearing of backlogs, suspended transactions and mis balancing on related G/L accounts
  • Process loan application forms/credit proposals received from branches, crosschecking the requirements and subm it them with recommendations to the concerned higher authorities for Approval and communicating the same to respective branches.
  • To assist in liaising with centralized employers for effecting prompt instalment deductions from employees’ salaries before granting loans to respective  applicants.
  • Ensure that weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and any other reports are accurate, complete, and prepared on schedule.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by his superior from time to time.
