About Us:
Uganda Co-operative Alliance is the umbrella organization for all co-operatives in Uganda. After reviving financial service co-operatives (SACCOs) and, agricultural production, value addition and marketing co-operatives, UCA has embarked on the process of promoting self sustaining housing cooperatives in Uganda.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture is a must.
- Additionally, the Manager should understand how the construction industry in Uganda works, should have the necessary computer skills, creative and innovative and able to
- guide the participating communities to come up with suitable housing solutions and means to achieve them.
- Possession of a Diploma in Project Planning & Management
- At least three years practical working experience in relevant field
- Must be between the the age of 35-50 years
- The Manager Housing Co-operatives Unit will support UCA in setting up and managing the new Unit.
- The Unit Manager will be responsible for the development of a sustainable cooperative housing sector focusing at the low income groups in peri-urban areas.
- The Manager is expected to provide strong leadership to the new unit which, should also effectively work with UCA's collaborating partners inside and outside Uganda.
- The Manager is expected to assist UCA management in designing and executing a national program where interested and committed communities will be identified, mobilized, sensitized and guided to acquire decent homes using a co-operative business model.
