Job Overview:
The Umeme Automated Meter Reading Analyst will primarily obtain metering and alarm data from all AMR meters, process and analyze the data and make appropriate recommendations.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Statistics, B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or B.Sc. Telecommunications
- Possession of at least a year to two years’ meter reading experience in automated meter reading system (AMR) will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in MS Office with Experience in power systems network control and operations.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to handle large sets of metering data.
Job Duties:
- Collect Automated Meter Reading (AMR) data and identify consumption trends, validate the quality of metering and alarm data collected, single out any anomalies to be resolved.
- Use the collected data to profile customers by category and activity as well as develop a foundational database to support analytics.
- Compare profiles of customers flagged by the system with body of normal profile to identify anomalous behavior.
- Offer analytical data to support investigation and prosecution of power theft.
- Conduct statistical trend analysis to support loss reduction.
- Ensure adherence and compliance to the company billing schedule through prompt and correct monthly reading of all meters.
- Report and manage AMR metering and communications faults and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure they are quickly resolved.
- Develop and maintain an up to date AMR meter database with all necessary details such as meter number, geographical coordinates, tariff code et cetera.
- Responsible for the preparation of relevant daily, weekly and monthly reports on the activities in the AMR center and performance of the AMR system.
- Work closely with AMR field teams and other parties to set up newly installed meters onto the AMR center and performance of the AMR system.

- Actively participate in building capacity and knowledge share on AMR for other company staff members.
- Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.
