About InterAid:
InterAid Uganda is a national humanitarian NGO engaging in humanitarian and development work in both the urban and rural communities in Uganda. In partnership with UNHCR and OPM, InterAid is in the process of establishing a multi- sectoral programme in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement.

Job Overview:
The Sanitation Assistant will be responsible for the implementation and provision of service in the agreed sectors of all activities. The candidate will work closely with the refugees to ensure efficient delivery of safe water, sanitation and hygiene practices in the assigned zones in the settlement.

Job Requirements:

  • Good university degree or Higher Diploma in Sanitation Engineering, Health Education & Promotion, Public Health, Disaster Risk Reduction or Social Sciences.
  • At least three (3) years or more working experience in a similar field.
  • Possession of TOT training in either PHAST, CHAST, CLTS or DRR methodologies will be an added advantage in addition to the ability to ride.
  • Fluency in Kiswahili and Acholi is desirable.

Job Duties:
As an Associate, you will be a valuable resource in our Audit department in Uganda, focusing on the following:
  •     Assist in planning work on assigned segments of the audit;
  •     Execute detailed audit procedures, including reviewing transactions, documents, records, reports and procedures and conducting audit tests which are sufficient in scope to support professional opinions as to the fair representation of client financial statements;
  •     Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports and analytical reviews, as necessary;
  •     Prepare work papers which record and summarise audit procedures performed and ensure that working papers are filed per approved firm guidelines;
  •     Assist in developing recommendations for corrective action/improvement;
  •     Ensure assigned work is completed within agreed time frame and carried out per approved methodologies and standards and within agreed budgets;
  •     Keep the manager updated on any issues arising from the assignment;
  •     Assist with departmental administration tasks such as filing and updating of client files; and
  •     Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department.

Note that:
    Prior experience in this kind of work is not a requirement for this position.
    Successful candidates will be required to pursue a professional accounting course, which will be financed by the firm.
